    Cichlid invasives!

Hi guys. I decided to start a log on all the various species of cichlids I have caught from fishing. Opinions on live stock?

Puffers don't have high bioloads IMO. Provided you have adequate filtration. They are very small so for the group of 12, a small pinch of bloodworms every day is sufficient. Make sure each one gets 2 is enough because 2 makes them bloated already! Sent from my HM NOTE 1W using Aquarium Advice...

    Opinions on live stock?

How about 12 dwarf puffers? I had 12 of them in my 20g and they school !! It is amazing to see puffers school. The males will stay around the edge of the school and its so cool! Haha option 1 is good as well, especially when you get a pair of GBRs which are a mating pair Sent from my HM NOTE...

Do oscars get lazy and boring?

What's your tank size, the only animal I can think of is a puffer Hahaha. Swims around... Archerfish? They are exceptionally fun to feed! I think Oscars aren't that lazy, but they aren't active when they are big ime. If your tank is big enough, there many puffers you can choose... Sent from my...

Nano fish for a 2.5 gallon tank

I don't even feed mine. But he lives in a heavily planted 20G. He lives on small organisms I seeded into it with live plants from a river. It also has seed shrimp. You can try to culture seed shrimp or brine shrimp for you indostomus. Then, slowly coax it into frozen daphnia. Then it will be...

    Hardiest Cory Cat?

Pygmy and sterbai are the most hardy cories in my opinion. Especially tank bred ones. When I started fish keeping and didn't know acclimation, I just dumped them into the tank and they always recover within an hour. My temperature in my country is 82degrees all year round with fluctuation of...

Steachem Stability or another bottled bacteria?

Well, even if it doesn't naturally occur in our systems, it seems to work for the most part. The safest bet is to cycle normally... Let's say stability bacteria does nitrify, eventually the natural bacteria will build up as well, so I believe in that sense, it could work. Sent from my HM NOTE...

How Much Crushed Coral to Use?

It is grams. I think using buffers will be better for you as you will be able to control exactly how much you want to increase. You can try using seachem buffers, they are pretty okay... Sent from my HM NOTE 1W using Aquarium Advice mobile app

Steachem Stability or another bottled bacteria?

Still. I go with stability. It cycled my 15gal Tanganyika tank instantly. But that is just me. The sand was from another tank, so maybe it was "live". However that's just my opinion. Seachem however, claims that the bacteria used is in a dormant form. Thus have longer shelf lives... Wonder if...

    African Lungfish

Haha nice. Lungfish are cool, but they grow big. A similar cool animal for a slightly smaller aquarium, maybe a dwarf goonch? Or a electric catfish. Those are cool, for a smaller tank. Say 200gallons. Dwarf goonch do okay in 125gallon since it is sluggish and not as big haha. Sent from my HM...
