Thanks for the advice. The pair mates every 2 weeks so hopefully by the the gourami will learn to stay away. Twiddlemuffin, if I got rid of a fish it would be the dwarf gourami, the ram pair is very cool and finding a breeding pair is difficult.

hi Molliiwopp, you could be right about the nitrites, but the tank did have 0 nitrites up until yesterday, which could have been just a small spike. the Prazipro i added to the tank said to not do any water changes for 5 days. If it is nitrite poisoning would the female have similar symptoms?
