Have you tested your water source? Could the source of nitrites be from there? When I cycled my tank, I had everything brand new and it took two weeks for my nitrites to spike.

There's also a cold water section and those ppl are goldfish experts!!

Sounds good! I had the same thought about lowering the ammonia as well.

I am cycling a 20g right now. I put in 1.5 mL a day and that gets me to about 2ppm. My first day I put in 4 mL and that was too much. My best advice is start with 1-2 mL then test. See where you're at and Add more, then test...rinse and repeat til u get where u want. I would say 4 ppm is sufficient.

Ok. It's a pain in the butt and would prefer NOT doing another huge water change. I think I might do 50% just to keep ph in check and make sure it doesn't stall...
