It's about 4 months old, ammonia at .2-.25 ppm, nitrite at 0ppm, and nitrate at 5ppm. Ph is around 7.7, and temperature is 78 F or 25 C. My bristlenose pleco has grown 2 or 3 odd yellowish lumps right along the side of his face, appearing within 3 days. At first I thought it was his bristles finally growing in, but it has become too large and discolored. Could it be a tumor?

This morning while checking in on my 3 week old shrimp tank, I found countless little white specks moving quickly and aimlessly around the aquarium glass. These guys look just like a grain of sugar. I believe they came in on my anacharis, which also had white or brown specks, but were so close...

Ok, thanks! I just did a 20% change, and cleaned under the decor. I couldn't believe how much detritus there was under them! I pulled more out in that one water change then in the last 3 combined.

I do clean the substrate, but not under the decorations. I used an API test kit, and it wasn't quite 0 or .25, it appeared somewhere in between.

My tank has been set up for about 3.5 months, so that may be the problem :/ thanks! I had another casualty today, and the others are a bit less lethargic, but I'm still going to do a very thorough cleaning.
