i am having problems restarting an emperor 400 filter.. i turn it on and fill the back with water and it starts taking some water in and then i stops taking in water i dont know what to do... thanks for the help

my cleaner shrimp kept hiding on a filterbox or something like that on the back of my tank... today i took him out of there and put a sponge through the hole he went in... after i took him out, everything seemed fine and all the fish passed by him and did nothing... then my bicolor...

so when you put new arrivals in tha qt tank, what are you looking for if they will probably not show any signs of ick and then when you put them in the main tank they will spread it anyways???????????

the thing is the newcomers dont have any signs of ick.... and for the next time, how long should i quarantine new arrivals?? and what should i look for?

the blue tang is about 3 inches and the only recent change is that i added a coral beauty and a racoon butterfly... at the time i added them, my blue tang seemed real shy, it hided under a rock for about 4 or 5 days and then came out and was perfect for a week or more... then the ick started to...

i have had my blue tang for several months now. about 3 or 4 days ago i sarted noticing some white spots on him. today it was kind of bad, the spots got kind of larger and he started losing color around the eyes and i noticed him scratching against some rock.... i have read about adding copper...

the antenna was kind of white/// it looked like a gray hair but i havent found any other parts of the molt....

I think I found one of the shrimp's antennae. Is this because it's molting or did somebody eat it and that's the left-over?

but i feed them and it doesnt come out... if my maroon clown fish is like 2 inches and the shriimp 1 inch could he ihave eaten him*??

i bought a cleaner shrimp 2 days ago, it was good yesterday afternoon, hiding a bit and in the corner all the time... i havent seen him today... it was kind of small, about 1 inch to 1 inch and a half... i have a bicolor pseudo, a bluetang, yellow tang, maroon clown, damsel and a ch chip...

i hope the new fish get well with the fish i had cause sometimes the new fish get harassed..... is there anything i need to know about taking care or about special needs for these new fish... (3 striped damsel and bicolor pseudochromis)

woow thanks for all the advice everyone... I decided that the easiest way to solve the problem was taking it to a lfs.... they wouldnt give me store credit cause i bought it online.... but anyways i left it there for them to take care of him... i didnt want him to starve to death in my tank...

today my mandarin dragonette seemed real weak... it stayed on the bottom kind of breathing fast... it looks real thin and small I have had it for like a month now is there anything i can feed him because my tank has been running for only about 3 months and i didnt know i had to have it for about...

but isnt it better to feed them every day??? cause i feed them twice a day and everytime i feed them they all seem hungry and eat everything i give to them.... i think im gonna start feeding them only once a day......

i thought i had to feed the fish like twice a day.....????

I am having this same problem but i am guessing it is because i used tap water... it is a bit slimy but it looks like dust. it is on my substrate sand and also in some live rock... what should i do?? and is this algea harmfull in any way?

today i went to my lfs and i wanted to get a false percula clownfish... they didnt have any so i bought a maroon clownfish... its kindof big... its about 2 inches... my question is... is there gonna be a problem if i want to add a percula clownfishh maybe next week??????? because ive heard this...

my pufferfish hurt one of his fins when he got stuck in the powerhead and is struggling to swim... he doesnt move his left side fin unless he really has to and his skin from the side of the fin is kind of swollen because of the powerhead sucking on it..... i already bought some things specially...

my set up has been up for a month and a half and i had nothing but a clownfish that i bought more than a week ago but got stuck in a powerhead and died.... sad story i know....

what do you mean by ailing?? he had the whole 75 gallon tank for him because he was my first fish...

i got a sponge and connected the powerheads i went for some siccors to cut it and when i was back my porcupine puffer waas stuck on it!!!! i think he hurt his fin \ anyways i put the sponge under the intake and the flow of the powerhead is now somehting like 50 gal per hour... its really slow...
