Zac, my powerhead stopped working twice. I took them apart and found sand in it. I washed it out, and it worked just fine. Might want to give that a try.

I did something similar today. I put nylon screening over my CC then scooped the sand out of a bucket (after a thousand rinse cycles), and put it in the tank over the screening so it doesn't end up under the cc. Does anyone know how having the lights on during cycling, affects the cycling...

Oh yes, in the future, when I get more experienced, I am looking to get some anenomies and some coral, so the fish should be compatable with inverts and reef settings. I think I took all of this into consideration. Also, do not want any fish that are venomous.
