    Coral

they are actually good at getting rid of algae including hair. i would wait about 2 months before adding any coral, let your tank settle for while.

    Fish disappearing

I've heard they were a bit nasty to other shrimp like peps, but i never knew they were actually fish killers.

    Ocean rock safe?

i would suggest putting them into the sump or even better a quarantine tank before adding them into your tank. You have no idea what is actually living inside the rock nor what contaminants are in it.

    A very strange pistol shrimp

Was out hunting for a randalls pistol shrimp at the lfs when i came across a fairly large (about 1 inch) pistol, was black/brown with a yellow stripe running down its back. It was labeled as a "banded" pistol but i havent came across anything under that name which actually looks like this...

    Midas blenny

should be fine but it is not unknown for them to fight with clowns.

    Just starting

Don't know if anyone has already said this but you don't want to be adding all the fish and CuC at the one time. Space it out over the course of a few months. Also be ready to replace the hermits and snails as the hermits will fight eachother and kill the snails for the shells. A tailspot...

    Stocking a 29 gallon biocube

What about a smaller blenny like the tailspot? They can help keep your algae under control.

Clowns or Damsels in The Reef?

I have heard that they will (the chromis) eventually kill of the weakest member of the group untillxtheir are only a few left and that they can be fairly territorial in a peaceful tank. Don't know if this is actually true or not. Sadly I didn't hear about this out until I purchased two of them...

False alarm. The other chromis appeared, it's been living in another cave and came out today during feeding. Goby is still missing however.

worried something bad is in my tank.

Hey guys Been noticing at night my fish are all sleeping in the same (fairly large) cave.the tank is 20 us gallon (getting upgraded to a 30g next month) and my fish now a small ywg, tailspot blenny and a black bar chromis are all sharing the same hidy hole. I had another chromis it disappeared...

    dwarf puffers

I am just thinking about this, still to clear it with the Mrs and set up my new reef so it would be another 6months to a year before I even consider buying a new tank for a puffer but thanks for the help, it's much appreciated. :thanks: No doubt I will be back asking questions at a later date

    Aggressive 20 gallon

Had a look at anglers for you (you got me interested) Wartskin angler Wartskin Angler Orange angler Red/Orange Angler These have to be the ugliest things you could put in an aquarium, an interesting focal point. Not sure whether I would want to put my hand in with one :D Could such a fish...

What type of cichlid should I get?

Kribs and convicts are easy enough to breed. Firemouths are notoriously difficult to sex when they are juvies, never bred rainbows so I can't comment. All are good parents and will defend their eggs/fry.

    Aggressive 20 gallon

They won't be active, they lure their prey to them.
  25. S

    Aggressive 20 gallon

I think they perch at the top of the tank and then dive down on their prey. Upgrade your tank will increase what fish you can stock.
