O2 is important even with co2 for plants. C02 is a nutrient and all the other nutrients that are vital for plants need that exchange as well. Most algae problems are to low of flow, not enough added nurtrients and not enough water changes when something is lacking. The worlds best aquatic pant...

Sumps and co2 worm very well together you need to use more co2 and use a cerges reactor or similar in the sump to add the co2 you will have no co2 bubbles in the display tank and another benefit is the o2 exchange that must occur.

You are at the top range for an EI daily dosing regimen. You want a 4 -1 ratio of nitrogen to Phoshates so your nitrogen would need to be at 40 ppm and that would be at its max before the fish started to suffer. The phosphates are not bad for the pkants and will not cause algae that is an old...

Do you have clay soil in your yard? If so make 1" balls and freeze them and plant 4 or 5 around your swords that will help them a lot. Make sure you dig about 1ft down so you dont have much organics in the soil. I do this under all my hairgrass and crypts and anything that is a root feeder they...

Just raise your Bubble count slowly you want it to be at the very least yellowish green. 6hrs is fine for your lights and so is 8 unless you notice more algae I would go with the 6 for now and after a few weeks raise it to 8 after you get some of your algae issues under control. What state are...

Just one cool thing is if you start to bulk up your planted tank even if it is with cheap easy to find stem plants and start doing the EI dosing with a 50% water change you will never have to do another test again. The biggest names in Aquaculture do not use them as the excess of nutes will...

I would suggest dropping the MH lights. The plants you are growing dont...
