    vacuuming planted tank

That's not true. Just because you don't have a high tech tank doesn't mean you shouldn't be doing large water changes.

    Help despararely needed !

How long have you had the tank? If you have both ammonia and nitrites than your tank is not cycled which is why your fish are dying

    Melting Plants?

Plants will definitely do just fine if given less than 10 hours of light. The longer you run lights the higher the chance you have of running into algae issues. Are you dosing any ferts?

    10 gal adventure

5 what? And unless the fish pass away I don't think you should constantly be switching things up

    10 gal adventure

Otos are a schooling fish and prefer to be in schools. What fish do you have in the tank now? A 10 gallon is rather small and is pretty limited to the amount of fish that can be in it.

How do you know the "right" amount for water changing?

I've never had any issues when doing large water changes once per week. I've found that both fish and plants love them

    Snail ID

Pond snails wont eat your plants unless the leaf on the plant is dead or dying so you really have nothing to worry about. They are completely harmless and in my opinion an essential piece to a healthy successful tank

Whats the Most attractive colourful peaceful?

Yeah if that's all going inside the 15 gallon your most likely overstocked

    10 Gallon

Cory cats should be in schools of atleast 4 and if you mean a bristle nose pleco, they need a 30 gallon minimum I believe

    Controlling Algae

Your lights are on for way too long try cutting it down to 6 hours and see if that helps

Is this information on water changes accurate?

I agree with the above post. 10% water changes are a waste of time. Water changes are great for fish and plants, and the more you do them the more successful your tank will be. Unless you have terrible source water, then atleast 50% water changes are what I would recommend on a weekly basis

GBR + EI = Bad Idea?

Or to save money just get the drain and fill piece that attaches to the sink and get a garden hose for like 10 bucks and you can use that for water changes

    Help New Tank, Newbie

During a fish in cycle you have to be changing the water pretty much every other day or whenever you get an ammonia or nitrite reading. Also, with that low of a ph beneficial bacteria pretty much stop multiplying. People use baking soda, crushed coral, or holey rock in order to help raise the ph...

GBR + EI = Bad Idea?

I know very little about EI and Pps but as far as your question about the water changes, I have had a pair of gbr for nearly 8 months or so and I do 60-70% water changes once a week without any issues so I think you'll be alright
