    Help ID My Mystery Fry!

Hey everyone! Thought I'd update you all on the mystery fry. It turns out I have two of them! I suspected I did from the beginning but only last week did I see both at once. They're both much more active these days and are getting progressively more outgoing. They definitely have red eyes...

    Help ID My Mystery Fry!

Hello all, I recently bought a group of young Venezuelan corydoras at auction and after bringing them home, discovered a surprise. A single tiny fry had somehow survived being bagged up by the previous owner, sitting for hours in the bag with 4 larger fish, being netted by me, and then being...

    Stocking

Cories prefer to be kept in groups too, so 6 would be a good number for them as well. You could add 3 or so amanos without issue to either of those, I'd think. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

12 endlers and 5 African dwarf frogs too much for a 10 gallon?

Agreed. 2 frogs and 5 or 6 endlers would be a good place to start. They'll breed unless you get all males and you'll want the extra space. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    My Tank Showcase!

Two of them will flare at each other from time to time but they seem to get bored of it pretty quickly. I doubled up on the craft mesh so if anything, they can just catch movement and colour on the other side.

12 endlers and 5 African dwarf frogs too much for a 10 gallon?

I would say yes, definitely overstocked. As far as endlers are concerned, I've had a local breeder tell me they've kept up to as many as 3 per gallon without issue. I have 15 yellow jacket endlers in a 10g with some ruby tetras and have had no problems at all, but I'm very diligent about water...

    Stocking

I was thinking pygmy cories too, but they're not quite the 'colourful' fish you asked about. Amano shrimp have made good companions for my bettas. They actually use their little head antennae to touch the fish sometimes. I know some people who keep endlers (NOT the flashy, long-tailed hybrids)...

    My Tank Showcase!

Hello all! I haven't been around for a while and for that I'm sorry. I doubt many people remember me anyway, so no great loss! At any rate, I'm back and thought I'd show off my tanks. My first and main tank is a 36g community. It didn't start out planted and so it just has regular gravel as...

Betta build, one more tank? Sure....

Oh wow, it looks like a crossbreed between a crown tail and halfmoon. Beautiful fish! I'll post some pictures of my bettas when I do my big "Hi, I'm still alive" thread. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Betta build, one more tank? Sure....

I've got two 10g tanks with the same lighting setup and they both do really well. I had some issues with diatoms in both for a while but everything sorted itself out in time. And with amano shrimp. And otos. What tail type is the betta? I'm assuming you bought it as a baby and don't know?

Betta build, one more tank? Sure....

Oooh, I bet that'll look awesome. It's funny, one of the cats destroyed the cheap LEDs I had on the shrimp tank and I was using the desk lamp as a temporary fix. Then my plants took off like crazy and I decided to just leave it that way. My female amanos are always berried despite being in...

Betta build, one more tank? Sure....

A little late to the party here, but seriously stick with the desk lamp if you can't decide. My shrimp tank has a single 13W daylight spectrum CFL in a desk lamp for lighting and it's my happiest tank. The plants are growing like crazy, it's a jungle in there. Also that fun dance your shrimp...

Blue velvet vs blue dream (neos)

I keep regular blue velvet shrimp and ADORE them, but I've never even heard of blue dreams until just now. For what it's worth, my blue velvets have bred wonderfully for me and are super entertaining. The little nano that houses them has quickly become my favourite tank to sit and watch.

    Help RCS pregnant

You should be fine with the bubbler if it's what you use for raising fry. Is it a sponge filter? Make sure you add a plant or two (java moss is ideal) to the tank you put her in. My baby shrimplets are always hiding in the moss and scouring it for food.

    Goldfish help!

Are you set on a goldfish? A single betta would do okay in that size tank with proper filtration and heat. Failing that, you could keep shrimp or a snail. I've got a 3g shrimp tank and I absolutely love those little guys.

Inherited an aquarium, tried to add fish, all hell broke loose

I would definitely return the pleco. There isn't a pleco out there that's well-suited to a 10g tank because they carry such large bioloads. Honestly, what you need at this point is stability. Don't try to alter the pH any further, it'll only make things worse. Keeping it steady is more...

    Low ph...why?

Fluval plant and shrimp stratum is designed to lower your pH. That's what's causing the problem. When you do a water change, the substrate takes a while to buffer the pH again, which is why water changes are helping. The pH buffering effect will wear off after and while and you won't have a...
