added the new livestock on Oct 16. weeks passed without view of my emerald crab. has been missing for a long time and i finally found him early past week, shell only. and more bad news, my scooter blenny died yesterday morning :cry:

unless you want fish that know to be "jumpers" you can do a tank without a lid. the price is good but the quality may not be. did you check the live rock at liverock.com just be careful not to scratch your acrylic with the rock

i have a 404, works great. no leaks anywhere and easy to clean up. its a few months old. i clean it only once, my bad. suprising not much gunk since my tank is new. i forget which media to remove or replace. is it the ceramic rings and replace with what? what about the 4 sponges on the side...

you are going too fast leave the shrimp and tank alone for about 25 days you should see the shrimp just rot away. the bacteria, ammonia will start the cycle and when completed which is about 25 days you may be ready. take readings every 4 or 5 days glad to see someone a neighbor in houston, too...

i havent seen much cleaning on the tank other than cleaning the leftovers and the sand. not much on the glass or live rock. the turbo snails about the size of a half dollar are much into the glass and live rock cleaning and anything with food.

none live rock and deep sand bed is the way to go on the cannister, only thing i could find or read about for use is for activated carbon to polish the water and filter stuff out, not biological wet/dry is different filtration. its more bilogical becuase of the bio balls will remove some bad...
