Angelfish pair too old to spawn?

Last January I picked up a fully grown pair of angels that were dumped at my lfs, the previous owner claimed they were a breeding pair when they dropped them off. When I first brought them home, they were active and displayed behavior consistent with them wanting to spawn (sparring, liplocking...

    Angelfish with weird poop

About 6 months ago I brought home a fully grown pair of angels from my lfs and since then I've been having many problems with one of them. I've had an exceptionally hard time getting any weight on her, she eats like crazy but never seems to gain any weight. She's always had this strange poop...

    Sexing angelfish

That's what I was thinking too. I'll just have to wait to know for sure until they spawn, which will hopefully be soon. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Sexing angelfish

So a few weeks ago I picked up a pair of large angels at my lfs. The person who dumped them there claims they are a breeding pair, although the lfs had no proof. They do seem bonded, and follow eachother all around. There is some aggression (but perhaps actually spawning behavior?), and today I...

    Stocking Advice?

Thanks for the replies! We opted to drop the idea of the angel, and instead we're looking into a school of bottomfeeders. We'll be putting it together this sunday, and I'll be seeding it with media from my 120 to help the cycle along. Thanks for all of your advice! Sent from my iPhone using...

    Stocking Advice?

It is not a hex tank, the dimensions are 48.5"x13"x25". Perhaps that is what threw off the dimensions a bit. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely look into the pearl gourami. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Stocking Advice?

Tank is 60 gallons. So far we were thinking about: 6 Cherry Barbs 1 Angelfish 1 Blue Gourami 6 Harlequin Rasboras 1 Smaller Pleco (perhaps BN or Rubberlip?) I put it in to aqadvisor and got a stocking level of 84%, however I feel like this is pretty high for the small amount of fish I plugged...

    Lighting for 120 Gallon Planted

Yes thank you I am going for lighting in the medium to high range, similar to the marineland led. I'll definitely look into the ones you guys suggested, thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Lighting for 120 Gallon Planted

Recently I've been having issues with my Marineland Aquatic Plant LED, it's been overheating like crazy and you cannot turn on the tv and the light at the same time or the circuit will blow. This is the second one of these lights I've had issues with, the first the company replaced but I'm not...

Thanks! I'll be sure to post some pics once it is up and running!

    120 Gallon Heater

I was planning on keeping some more delicate fish like angels and GBR so I'd rather not have the temp fluctuate much. In my 60 I currently have a 200W, which was why I thought maybe two of them would work, because like you pointed out it's double the size. I just wasn't sure if this would work.

    120 Gallon Heater

So I'm upgrading my 60 gallon to a 120 and had a few questions about heating it properly. I've been reading all over the internet and have gotten so many different responses. If I was heating a 120, and the room temp is around 74 degrees F, how many watts would be sufficient. I was thinking that...

    Planning planted tank

Planning a planted tank? So I have finally decided to make the leap into a more complicated planted aquarium, and have decided to transform my 60 gallon tank into a planted tank. So please tell me if this plan would work. The dimensions of my tank are 12.75"L x 48.5"W x 25" H. My lighting...

Cracks forming in 60 gallon aquarium

The tank has not collapsed yet, yes i found one on sale online (from a very responsible person who currently has it up and running) and i will be heading out to look at that tank to see if it'll work out. Sorry the website glitched which is why there was only a few words, i edited it though so...

Cracks forming in 60 gallon aquarium

So recently my 60 gallon has developed what appears to be about 8 stress cracks. The longest one is 3", the others are all ~1". They are perfectly strait and you can feel an indentation on the inside. I have tried emailing the company but got no response. The tank has not been moved since...

Do you give names to your fish?

All 23 of mine have names, and my friends think I'm insane. But its fun :) My little sister names some of them, thats how I ended up with Puff the powder blue dwarf gourami and Joey Bubbles the Albino Bristlenose pleco. You know I just can't tell her no, no matter how humiliating it is.
