    Coralline and hair algae

Also keep your phosphates at 0 and nitrates should really be lower than 10 which is easier said than done!

    Coralline and hair algae

I had a constant battle with it in my old system I don't really know where it came from but I think I was running my lights too long which accelerated the growth. You might find that tiny bits come in on new rock or even the bases of corals from your lfs I removed most with my hands and scrubbed...

    Coralline and hair algae

If your refering to the rusty patches that's diatoms you get these in a new set up and it comes and go's again so don't panic if your whole tank go's brown. It's normal. Hair algae however is a different story it can quickly take over a tank and is horrible to get rid of,remove it by hand and...

What kind of snail is this?

I think by your pics it's a Stomatella snail they are related to turbos and are reef safe and will graze on algae good things to have in your tank. Nice find :-)

What on earth is this thing??

It's not a cucumber or a bristle worm I have a couple of bristles and the only way I can describe what it looks like is a moth wing furry ish I have seen it a few weeks ago before it latched itself to the coral itself I'm really stumped on this one!

What on earth is this thing??

I thought a f.d at first but I've seen it when it's not been so close to the flesh of my hammer and it's wafer shaped and my copperband leaves it be and he eats everything like that like the clam I had growing in my Aussie torch the bugger! Lol

    Cyano

I too have a little cyano but seems to be dispersing now many things can contribute to getting it eg too much light too low flow and over feeding are the main causes your test kits may read nitrate and phosphate at very low levels but only because the bacteria is absorbing it for food try...

    Aclimation best way??

I said it's what works best for me I haven't lost a single fish in 3 years using this method but I have when I've dripped them over three years ago I have manderins copperband wrasses clowns bennies dwarf angels all added straight to tank and are thriving as are my corals

    Aclimation best way??

Best way I've acclimatised fish is got them home and put them straight in the tank no drip at all always had success more so than the drip method I think this adds more stress to the fish rather than giving them somewhere to hide instantly but just my method I wouldn't say this is the best...
