I bought too many plants for my aquarium!!

I made a similar mistake, but didn't know any better... Half my plants died for lack of nutrients until I bought Flourish and at least now things have stabilized. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Plants keep dying

Ok, so I need some details as to which fertilizer. I was at the local fish store yesterday and couldnt figure it out. The owner offered me to try Ph level first - working through that. Can you link me to the specific fertilizer you use ? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Plants keep dying

We have a 25 gallon tank, with 5 adult guppies and a bunch of fry. When we set it up, we intended it to be a full planted tank. I stocked it with half a dozen cabomba bunches, a couple of vesuvius plants, and 4 moss balls. At the beginning, for about first 6 weeks, cabombas were overgrowing...

    Guppy sexing and population control

We have a 25 gallon tank. My 7 year old wanted to have guppies in it, so we got 2 males and 3 females. Since then the females gave birth to a bunch of fry, of which currently 6-7 teenagers survive. There is 1-3 day old fry swimming around. So, first question is at what point can one tell the...

    Help convincing stepmom!

STUPID parents 16-20 fish in a 40 gallon is a bit much I think. We have a 25 gallon with 7 and I think that is a good balance. Sure some fish need to live in groups, but not all do. Also not all fish are compatible with one another. Would you be comfortable living with 20 people in a 400 sq...

When and how to clean the filter

I have this filter (100 gph): It has been almost a month since we got it. I am just wondering - at what point am I supposed to clean it ? When do I replace the media ? How do I get it out of the tank without it dumping its contents into the water ? Thanks all! Sent from my iPhone using...

Do I really need to change 10% water weekly ?

I have a fermentation DYI bottle doing CO2 injection. From what I have read it is nearly impossible to overdoses your tank on co2 from a sugar/yeast process. But I understand your point... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Do I really need to change 10% water weekly ?

We had a new tank for two weeks now. We had fish in it for a week. It is a fully planted tank. At night we run air pump, during the day air pump is off but lights are on. We are pumping co2 24/7. Every day we do water quality readings. So far, ammonia has been around 0-0.5ppm,no2 at 0, and...

Do I really need an air pump ?

Ideal we would like to build a planted aquarium. I have a co2 reactor prepared for when we plant. We have a filter, etc. I see there is some debate as to whether an airpump is needed or not. Would in theory lifting the exhaust from the filter above the water so it is aerated be enough ? Will it...

    Getting bacterial starter

Ok, so our new 25 gallon tank is progressing well. We ordered the plants and they should come by the end of the week. So, now to cycling. So I did some math. A 25 gallon tank is supposed to have 200 lbs of water plus rocks. That just terrifies me.

New member got a 25 gallon tank for the kids

What amazes me is what is holding the tank together ? It just looks so fragile and yet it is supposed to hold almost 200 lbs worth of stuff... Thanks for your advise. I know about cycling the tank before introducing fish, my daughter has a book and we went over it.
