I use an in-tank UV sterilizer to eliminate my algae. That way, I don't have to invest on a whack of Ottos to do the cleaning. But, I do have a Bristlenose, and quite happy with him. :)

Question: If you slow down the GPH flow of the Aquaclear, does that constitute for the water to have more exposure time with the filter media or will it be the same as when you have it at max GPH flow? Thanks-in-advance.

I should have stated earlier that canister filters are out of the question. I think I'll be sticking with my Aquaclears for filtration. Will I be alright just using a powerhead?
