Ok thanks, I noticed there are some strands of duck weed, a horrible algae like glop that takes over the pond, on the plant. I don't want that to grow in the tank so would you be able to recommend an easy method of treatment that would sort that out for me?

Looks to me like he has fin rot, that white stuff around his tail is not good. I am not an expert but do some research on fin rot or ich and see if they are what your fish has. If it is either of those diseases you need to get the correct medicine ASAP.

If you want to keep some your best chance is to catch them and keep them in a separate tank, you can feed them broken up flake food I believe, but if your tank is well planted and you don't want to be over run with fry I would leave them all in there and let nature take its course, I expect I...
