    Zoanthid id

Possibly Green Bay packers for the first picture with the colony on the right. Not sure though. Second picture might be everlasting gobstoppers? Also not totally sure on that either..

    Ich help

Normally I wouldn't have attempted a freshwater dip but he seems healthy. Besides the white spots obviously. He sees me walk in the room and he begs for food. I've been feeding him pellets one at a time and removing any and all waste.

    Ich help

Hey guys, I think I'm dealing with my first case of ich. :( The fish is a falco hawkfish. I've had him a month and a half before he showed signs of ich. I made the rookie mistake of not QT him right when I got him. He was happy in my 55 gal long and then all of a sudden I noticed some white...

    Zoa Addicts Club

Hey guys! Great thread. I picked these up a few days ago and posted a pic in a new thread but no one knew what they were. Hopefully someone else knows! I'm fairly certain I have mean greens and something else that I'm not sure. They picture is pretty close to what they look like but to just to...

I used a gel filter to help with the light washout. That's a pretty accurate color. Thanks for the reply

    Zoa ID

Got this frag yesterday for $18. Not sure the names of the zoas. I think the blue and green ones are kryptonite zoanthids but I have no clue about the maroon ones with white centers and green skirts. Any ideas? thanks

    90g Reef flow help?

Try putting both 1300s on either side pointing towards each other and slightly up to create turbulence and surface agitation? I have two 800gph pumps on either side of my 55 and it seems to be perfect ;) Also, check out flow requirements online depending on what your livestock requires. Good luck!

New 55G saltwater love it !!!

I had them too and liked how quiet they were. I was just worried they'd leak or something. I'm kinda paranoid... But id love to have one like that but I only have a 55... I'd love to see that 200 :D

Canisters aren't bad as long is maintenance is kept up. I've never understood why people say they're nitrate factories when they typically have very similar media in HOBs. Yet I never hear about those being an issue when it comes to nitrates. That Picasso is going to outgrow that tank though.

    Possible Problem (Please Help!)

Yeah I think if you get some more water circulation you will be golden. Check out gph (gallon per hour) requirements for certain tanks. I've seen a bunch of charts giving the recommended flow requirements for different tanks (fish only, soft corals and SPS) I can't remember the figures off the...

    Clicking sound in reef tank

Could it be your heaters clicking on and off...?

    Dirty Sand

I'd try the third power head. What's your gph rating as of now?

    Stocking 55G

Definitely agree with no cleaner wrasse. Do a simple search on them and you'll be desuaded quickly. A mated pair of ocellaris with an anemone is always nice. Maybe a dwarf angel (flame angel) or a hawkfish.

Do my zoas need more light??

My zoa frag did the same thing so I moved it up and now the polyp is flush to the rock. Not sure there's much you can do! At Least it's thriving

    Phosphates and diatoms

New lighting? I've heard diatoms aren't affected my lights but I'm still not entirely convinced they aren't out of the question. Get some flow on the rocks and sand and just wait it out.

Through proven treatment for you...which is better-copper or hypo salinity treatment

I got a treatment yesterday from kent called Rx-p or something like that. Apparently it's totally organic and can be used in a DT as it contains NO copper. Maybe look into that for whoever has a tank outbreak. I just noticed small white dots on my hawfishs' pectoral fins so he's being treated...

    Advice for my upgrade

Not sure what advice you want. But I'd for sure put the skimmer, heaters and a hob filter in the sump. Also, maybe consider getting a filter sock for your intake to the sump (clean regularly or change it out to avoid nitrate issues). If also recommend getting some macroalgae in the sump for...
