    Mushroom or Blastomussa?

Hello, I'm new to corals and such so I know very little. Now I added this a few weeks ago. My LFS told me this was a easy to care for mushroom. He told me the name however I forgot what he told me. Now someone else came over to my house and asked if this was a blastomussa mertelli. Of course I...

    Phosphates and diatoms

I'm fairly new to this but I'm sure a big water change will lower phosphates. Also if you don't have a protein skimmer maybes should consider one. Also they sell media to reduce phosphates as well. Using ro/di water? Feeding too much? As I said I'm fairly new but thought I'll put little info as...

    Silicone in my 210g reef

If I were you just to be on the safe side. I would put brand new sealant. That's just me. Imagine what a pain it would be to have to change it once you already have it established. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Diatoms? How do I get rid of them?

My tank is about 2 months old. What I believe are diatoms, I'm getting everywhere. How would I get rid of them? I read that this is relatively normal for newer tanks but man this stuff is not very pleasing to the eye. 90 gallon tank with about 100 pounds of rock. 30 was live and the rest was...

Ideas for aquascaping in 90 gallon

So I starting this tank about 7 weeks ago. I'm questioning my scaping now. Trying to come up with better ideas but not sure. I know I should of played around with it more but I was so anxious to get the cycle started as this is my first time running a saltwater aquarium. I know it's hard to give...

    Heating advice

My fluval 300w works great on my 90 gallon. Got a cheap one before that and it was awful. I like the idea of 2 heaters but only have 1 and that works great only fluctuates by .5 at night. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Should I buy it?

My experience I've usually done better on Craigslist. The $1/gallon deal sounds great.

    Re sealing an aquarium

Hello, I'm new to this forum and fairly new to this hobby. However when I got my 90 gallon tank I also had to reseal due to a leak as well. Don't be nervous it's very easy! The black frame simply pries right off. Remove sealant with a razor blade. Once removed clean well with alcohol or...
