I had green hair algae very bad a awhile ago. IMO you should run GFO, put in a sea hare or lots of hermits to eat the algae, pull out lots by hand, and keep up with water changes.

Your phosphates and nitrates will read close to zero because the algae will use all of it in the water. I think you should add some reef hermits or a sea hare. They eat hair algae pretty quickly!

I was always told it is a good sign that your tank is maturing. If you still want to get rid of it you can scrape it off with a credit card.

Hi there everyone. I have successfully built my own sump. It contains a skmmer section, refugium and a return section. I have some bioballs laying around so I was wondering if i should put them in the sump? Are they a good addition to my sump or are they useless?
