    125 gallon build

Apparently :/. But I don’t want to offend by asking for more. This is what it looks like now: I bought this Novus, read that some people on here used it. I hope it works.

    125 gallon build

I’m about to be setting up the tank tonight, but my friend who sanded the tank questionably made it worse. It is all cloudy looking. He said when I let it sit with water it will clean it off, but it didn’t, so I don’t know what to do :/

Thank you so much! And that’s lbs of sand?

    125 gallon build

How many cubic ft of substrate should I have in this tank? I calculated it 6ftx1.5ftx.25ft(depth of substrate and got 2.25 cubic ft. But that seems like far too little.

    125 gallon build

When I was filling the tank last night it overfilled (oopsie) I have fans on it. But I am concerned that the water under the tank stand will cause it to mold. When I empty it should I move the tank and let it dry underneath?

Oh goodness I hope my reinforcements didn’t add torque!

    125 gallon build

Reinforced the stand. Now filling it reaffirms how uneven my floor is, is there anything I can do for the tank?

    125 gallon build

Going to be testing for leaks today after I reinforce the stand

    125 gallon build

Got the tank sanded and tested some driftwood arrangements. Going for the “triangle” look, let me know where I could improve!

    125 gallon build

Wow sounds like you lucked out. I know they are a hefty tag, the only reasonable ones are the little ones, but then comes the problems. I think if I get discus it will be down the road, because of the price, but I’ll be sure to save a spot in my tank for them. The angels must be jealous of...

    125 gallon build

Oh wow they’re beautiful. Did you buy them large or did you grow them out? What I’m reading is that the big discus aren’t as hard, just need to maintain high temps, but they get their bad rep from the juveniles. How hard are they for you?

    125 gallon build

Ah I see, yeah we’ll see if the 2 can manage for now. That sounds like a really good stock!! Like I said I already have 6 angels. I’m planning on adding 7-8 pearl gouramis. And for the bottom either a large school of pandas or some pictus. People kept telling me they were to rough with the...

    Multiple Issues

I’d stop dosing fertilizer and see if the problems resolve themselves. I have a 36 gallon with CO2 too, it’s been set up for 2 years and I’ve never tried liquid fertilizer, just root tabs. I’ve heard some plants get hurt by those fertilizers because they have an algaecide (no idea how to spell...

    125 gallon build

Wow that’s a lot of filtration, what kind are they? Now I’m wondering if my filtration is going to cut it :/. This is my first big tank, my other tank is a 36. I’m thinking to put the spray bar on the side panel if it will help with flow, just trying to figure in let outlet placement.

    125 gallon build

Hmm okay, I’m thinking maybe a half and half mix, maybe more lava so the lava will be through out all the layers and the sand settles in. Maybe I’ll test it in a 5 gal. The light is really good for plants and very cheap for its purpose. Need to put in a little more money for the aesthetics...

    125 gallon build

I also ordered plants from aquariumplants.com, so we’ll see how that turns out. I ordered: Purple cambomba Dwarf hair grass Helferi Jungle val Ludwigia Trident java fern Wisteria Tiger lily Hygrophila araguais Are any of these doomed to failure without CO2?

    125 gallon build

Recently got a 125 for a good price on marketplace. I want a very natural river like look. I already have a school of 6 angelfish I’m growing out. I’ll show the build step by step here. I recently got driftwood in from manzanita-driftwood.com. This is the approximate arrangement until the...

    Angels in a 20 or 29 gallon

Fine, ordering during early quarantine is a mess but fine now. They just have a really big variety at azgarden. A little questionable quality but usually bounces back when the plants are in a tank

    Angels in a 20 or 29 gallon

Yeah, pretty good prices. How’s their quality? I usually buy from az gardens. It’s always a gamble with which thing will arrive dead, but their prices are dirt cheap.

    Angels in a 20 or 29 gallon

You just got to keep your eye out, could take a week or two until something you’re into pops up

    Angels in a 20 or 29 gallon

Or Facebook marketplace. Both are good

    Angels in a 20 or 29 gallon

True, I usually just find my stuff on Craigslist. Very good deals of people who don’t want a huge aquarium taking up space after they stopped the hobby.
