    ID Please

It's in the sump for now. Until I get some sort of ID. It seemed to be hiding deep in the Xenia. I'll keep an eye on it. Xenia just came in to LFS from Fiji recently and was out of quarantine. If he's a good hitchhiker I want to keep him. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

I found this burrowed in my Pulsing Xenia. I used google to try and ID but couldn't find out. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

New Mandarin dead in 12 hrs

There was no bulge, but some matter from the inside was removed. Suspect it died from shipping and the hole was made by a large nass, have had another since and it is eating and growing fine. Great addition to the tank love to watch the little guy hunt. Just need to be mindful of its diet...

New Mandarin dead in 12 hrs

Very Interesting. There are some larger ones in there, no more than 3-5 in a 75 g Are you saying they made the hole after the Mandarin was gone or killed it? Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

New Mandarin dead in 12 hrs

Very possible, but they tend to leave very little to find....much less a body with a "bullet" hole??. But it is a foul tasting Mandarin so that's my theory for now unless I find something at night in a trap. Last nights only trapped some of my Nass Snails? Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

New Mandarin dead in 12 hrs

I tend to agree. But have never seen just a hole...they clean up....fast. But it was a Mandarin. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

New Mandarin dead in 12 hrs

Small hermits and snails. A coral banded is my prime suspect but it has not bothered any of the wrasses that sleep nearby and I've never seen it go after a single fish. So I think it's possible but unlikely. I have a trap set to see what I find in the morning for any unwanted nocturnal...

New Mandarin dead in 12 hrs

My tank is over 18 months old, I am well aware of their dietary needs and they are more than met. I have a habit of thoroughly researching any addition to my tank. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

New Mandarin dead in 12 hrs

Here is my new Mandarin just after drip acclimation and 12 hours later. Is this injury postmortem or cause of death? If the latter, what causes such an injury? Almost circular deep hole. No known predator hitchhikers in tank. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    ??? ID Please

I've read the same. I'm not really struck on them either. I have a Hoeven's Wrasse ordered. They like to eat various harmful worms so we'll see if they have a taste for spaghetti. lol Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Thx....I googled spaghetti worms and bingo! You were right. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    ??? ID Please

Found several of these....clumps under live rock....there doesn't seem to be a centre disk like a sea star and each "tentacle" moves and is rust coloured. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Newly Split RBTA starting turf war...with itself?

Water conditions are pristine as always, I'm always on top of that. Clowns are a bit confused. Anyhow, just wondering if I should leave them be, that's all. Thanks for the answer, I suspected that was the right approach. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Newly Split RBTA starting turf war...with itself?

I've read that it's either stress or good conditions that cause a split and no one knows. It was quite fast as I was working along side the tank at something.....it was literally minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

I got a Milwaukee, a bit in the high side price wise, and that gave me pause. But I have found it worth every penny. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Newly Split RBTA starting turf war...with itself?

My RBTA split 10 days ago. It took only about 15 minutes, so fast it literally happened between glances at the tank. They went to opposite sides of the small cave they live in. The original nem spent the days with tentacles out in the open and the foot in the cave. Now both halves are healed...

    Chromis question.

No worries.....you'll be able to tell the pecking order according to they'r size...they were the same when I bought them and now I have S, M, L, & XL. Lol +1 on the actinics....they look like a "hole" in the water. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Chromis question.

My 75 g has four...no issues with tank mates although they do have a pecking order amongst themselves, but nothing serious. Tank mates are 2 ocillarious clowns and (as of yesterday) 2 RBTAs, a one spot Foxface, a Black Capped Basslett, two Carpenter's Wrasses', a Neon Goby, and. a Six Spot...

    new Anemone & old clownfish

My clowns were tank raised and took to their RBTA immediately. That being said, the female was too big at first for the nem and I was worried about damage. But for a creature without a brain, nems have a mind of their own and the clowns work around the mood the nem is in. Sent from my iPhone...

    RBTA Splitting?

They did put in 3 frozen cubes of Cyclop-Eeze....at once,,with everything else. It likely got most of that stuff. Everything is making sense now....and after doing a 50% and then 6 days later a 60% water change tanks life seems back to normal.....with two cleaner shrimp who seem to be...

    RBTA Splitting?

Ok, now that makes sense! Thanks for the info. I was so happy to see it fully extend yesterday I would have kissed it if not for the likely damage to both of us. lol Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    RBTA Splitting?

It was a mix, flake, pellets and frozen. ( I feed a variety so I guess they thought they would too) Seems back to normal now. No idea what, if anything, was stressing it. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    RBTA Splitting?

Did another big water change just to be safe. Water is basically as it was before the change. Temp 80 PH 8.2 Ammonia, Nirtite, Nitrate 0 Calcium 440 Magnesium 1300 Hardness 11dKh And no change in the Nem's behaviour....really puzzeled. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice
