88F to fight ICH in my planted tank?

As a relative newbie, I thought I'd post this here instead of the disease forum... I have a 2 month old 75 gallon planted tank that is to be a showpiece in my living room. CO2, plant gravel, full spectrum lighting, etc. The tank and plants are doing amazingly well with the CO2 injection, and...

    Need opinion on tank placement

More Information so you can counsel me properly :) I removed some of the ceiling tiles in the finished basement to inspect the joists. Sure enough they are 16" apart and 2 x 10" joists. HOWEVER there is a ray of hope! I found a "bearing wall" that connects to the parallels joists...

    Need opinion on tank placement

Sadly there is no space in the basement below. Its a fully furnished bedroom. So I can't shore up the two joists without making things look very unfinished in the bedroom downstairs. I guess I'm asking if no reinforcing whatsoever is done, is it safe to put 1000 lbs on only 2 2x10 joists near...

    Need opinion on tank placement

I have an opportunity to buy a very nice planted tank, but its 90 gallons, bigger than I really wanted. The problem is it has to go parallel to the floor joists on the main floor, NOT across them. Specifically the tank would weigh in the neighborhood of 1000 lbs with water, etc. It is going...

    48" tank on 47.5" stand?

Since I'm a rookie on this forum I thought I'd post a photo of my new (used) 55 gallon aquarium and stand. I appreciate all the comments. I also added a photo of my koi angelfish that will be going into this tank in the next few days. I have 9 of them, and I'll be allowing them to pair off...

    48" tank on 47.5" stand?

Thanks all for the advice. I have decided to put a 50" long sheet of 3/4" plywood on the top of the stand (plus a sheet of styrofoam over the plywood) which will solve any potential problem. I suspect I "probably" would be okay, but for the peace of mind and the safety of my rapidly growing...

    48" tank on 47.5" stand?

Yes, this is an actual aquarium stand for a 65 gallon aquarium. The concern is that the brand the stand is made for is slightly less long, only 47.5 inches vrs. the 48 inches of my 55 gallon tank. That's why the 55 gallon overhangs at the ends by 1/4 inch on each side. I could always just get...

    48" tank on 47.5" stand?

Hi, I've just picked up a nice almost new 55 gallon tank for my wooden stand. Strangely the stand is only 47.5" long so my new tank has 1/4" hanging off each side, basically the width of the end piece of glass. The tank is only 12.75" wide while the stand it 16" wide. So it will be well...
