    Major algae outbreak

Just for clarification... I thought your original post said you had no fish in there? If your tank hasn’t fully cycled it can kill the fish when the ammonia spikes

    Suggestions for flake food

I have a Spanish hogfish, 2 yellowtail damsels, a maroon clown, 2 engineer gobies, and a lawnmower blenny. I currently am just feeding frozen brine. Any thoughts on another addition to the diet for that lineup?

    Suggestions for flake food

Just wondered what others are using as far as flake food for their reef system or is flake just not the way to go? I have used it off and on over the years but lately have seen an increase in algae etc.

    My 40 breeder

Nothing fancy really. Just finally starting to look ok after about 2 yrs of trial and error. Filtration is simple just hob filter and the live rock. I do partial water changes about once a week. Fish I have, again nothing fancy, lost all my nice ones a year ago. So I decided to keep it cheap...

Tap water could be the major issue... I started my first tank with tap water and battled hair algae fer days...actually the entire time it was setup. As one of the previous posts mentioned lighting also can be a cause for cyano... What kind of lighting do you have and how long do you leave it...
