when i first started my 150 reef, i had 300 watts of white VHO, and about 150 actinic. because of a small fire in the hood, i upgraded to Metal Halides. In my 5 ft. long tank, I have 3 -250 watt 10,000K with 300 watts actinic. the light now seems much brighter and whiter than the old setup...

we actually live in an apartment building on the 19th floor...we are laughing about it now but it was kind of scary before!

Has anyone heard of sponges attacking corals? We think we have a white sponge thing in our tank. It's about the size of a half dollar and looks gooey. It doesn't move much. Should we be concerned? Thanks! Katrina

actually, we added the rock 2 days ago not yesterday. what should we look for when it's doing it's job? should there be air bubbles in the tank itself?
