Is there a med that can be used at every water change that will help prevent Ick, fungus ect?

I have been treating ick in my 29 gal tank using heat at 85f. for 10 days now. I haven't seen any spots for 5 of the 10, but some of my fish are still flashing. Water is 0 nitite 0 amonia 20 nitate 6.4 ph I change about 8 gal every week. I use stress coat and strss zyme.

Can filtering be effective without it and how long is it effective?

Which kind works the best and is the most accurate?

I have an outside pond, my koi is about 19 inchs and I have several 2-3 inch comets in the pond with him. He never bothers them at all.
