They just eat whatever scraps they find laying around the tank. Pretty sure you need to make sure you get a peppermint shrimp collected from Florida to be sure it will eat the Aptasia.

I love it. No filtration other than my protein skimmer. My water has never been so perfect. It is never cloudy from sand...haha

This has been growing in my tank for about 6 months. It isn't growing anywhere else in the tank so I am guess it is safe to have. I am just curious as to what it is. Does anyone know? Thanks!

The freshwater will kill of most of the beneficial bacteria. The rock also will absorb the freshwater and release it back into the tank.

I had no problem with the water change with my fish, coral, or inverts. Just need to make sure salinity and water temp are very close to what they were in. The one thing you did that may cause problems for you is having your rock in freshwater.

I would think if you were to rinse it, you would do it with clean saltwater. I have never done it.

This tank has been running for almost a year. Fully cycled. I know someone with the same set-up going over 10 years. With a 400 gallon tank. He has clams the size of basketballs, no filtration, just live rock and protein skimmers. He has a business growing coral in a greenhouse here in...
It is much easier to keep clean. I have the biocube too. I took out all the filtration and just have a protein skimmer. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 0 nitrates, Ca 430, KH 11.2.

No. I was saying, I don't have sand because the coraline on the bottom of my tank looks better than the sand I had.
