I would be nervous leaving the gravel in the tank but that's just me. Maybe keep it wet with aquarium water in its own bucket? Then you wouldn't have to worry about it in the moving tank.

That sounds like a really big bioload... Convicts are supposedly good parents but I would be safe and just move the parents and fry to a separate tank.

We had Betta's growing up from begging momma in Walmart lol. Then I wanted a fish tank and used the science fair as an excuse to get a 10 gallon and 4 fancy goldfish. Big mess. But I won 3rd place and some prize money for my feeding experiment! Then I upgraded the 10 to a 20 for my birthday one...
FINALLY got an African leaf fish! I've been waiting and creeping up on petsmart and now I have one! Super excited to watch him/her grow and become bolder. for now though, hiding is his favorite thing.

I don't really remember but I think it was like $5. But whatever the cost was was made up for in their low prices. I'm never buying a filter or filter media from petsmart again, the prices were so much better on doctor foster and smiths.

You should probably move the male and maybe even the other female so the she can be by herself in her normal surroundings.
