The only thing I would suggest is the gouramis... Because they are from the same family, (distant cousins or something lol) your betta will likely pick fights with them. And vice versa.

Haha yea! I put them in a large mesh nursery within my tank :) they are doing quite well. Only 5 or 6 but getting bigger! No one can bother them in there. Works awesome

Ah your lucky! There are tiny little very annoying eggs all over my pretty driftwood and lava rocks haha If they are fresh enough my Kubotai and red tail will gobble them up, but once they harden they are very ahem *difficult* to get rid of lol
