How often do you lose fish?

I lost quite a few this year - an angel and a few small guppies that were being bullied to death by another angel (she has been rehomed) A betta that went within a few days of getting it and countless neon tetras - no idea why but for some reason neons just all get sick and die - not going to...

    Am I too late?

Well it seems I was too early after all - one of them just started birthing tonight! About 25 so far and looks like there's still more to come judging by the size of her.

    Filter media for nitrate removing.

No need for an ro in Scotland - our water's practically pure rain! lol The BOYU comes from China I think Paul and ours arrived with a standard UK plug attached - I've no idea about converters.

    Filter media for nitrate removing.

Yeah it seems to be working fine and for only £20 I honestly wasn't expecting it to be as good. I don't imagine it'll last but if it goes long enough until I can afford something better then I'll be happy :-)

    Am I too late?

Thanks - just wondered if it was possible for them to be dead "in-vitro" as it were :-/ The 15g is cycled (it's been running for ages and I bred pearl gouramis in it a few months ago) and all parameters are spot on. I didn't want a breeder net in main tank as I thought there was more chance of...

    Am I too late?

Being newly back into fish I fell back into the old habit of over-enthusiasm, lack of patience and fear of guppy fry becoming fish food. I am not proud to confess that, thinking my 3 female guppies were about to give birth, I hurriedly transferred them into breeding boxes in another tank - they...

    Move my guppies or not?

I lost a pregnant female that I moved from the 55g to the 15g to give birth. She was so stressed by the move that she had jumped out of the tank. When my other half went to check on her he discovered she'd jumped when he accidentally stood on her :-( bye bye mummy and babies!

    Pregnant Guppys in Birthing Tank

I'm in the same boat here - I have 2 pregnant guppies in a 15 gallon and I'm not sure whether to chance any fry surviving if left as is or if I should try to separate them in breeding boxes :-/ We got the females exactly 28 days ago and I think they were "pre-loaded" so they could drop any day...

    Back to fish-mania

Hi everyone - it's quite a few years since I've spent my evenings scrolling through fish forums! We've had quite an assortment of tanks of all shapes and sizes in the past which we regrettably got rid of when we thought we were done with fish-keeping :( Back to it with a vengeance now and...

Wow! Wish they had sales like that here in the UK - would cost us about £600 for that size set up :-(

    Filter media for nitrate removing.

I've just bought a BOYU EF-05 filter and I'm looking for others with experience of it. It arrived yesterday, I set it up and it worked perfectly and practically silent. When I got up this morning it was making a fair bit of noise - so I switched it off for a bit, put it back on and silence...
