    I have converted!

Okay, lets try this combo small yellow tang (top), lion (mid), flame hawk (bottom), zebra eel (bottom), and a bluehead wrasse (all). What do you guys think? Oh, I also found out that my tank is a 75g, not that it matters much.

    I have converted!

You know...the more research I do on triggers, the less likely I am to want one. They most likely will not get along with the lion.

I know....this is why it's so darn hard to pick, lol. What do you guys think about a picasso trigger, lion, zebra eel, cinnamon clown, and a lemonpeel angel or coral beauty?

    I have converted!

That is a lovely mix...lots of color. What I really would like to have again, is the antennata lion. We used to have one before the 100g went reef. I would also really like to have a small angler. Keep in mind, I haven't made up my mind and probably won't for some time so all these suggestions...

    I have converted!

I've just recently converted my 70g freshwater to FOWLR....now the dilemma, agressive, semi-agressive or peaceful. Anyone have any ideas on what to fill this tank...go ahead, pretend that it's your very own personal tank. I've come up with three combos but I'm very indecisive so I'm looking for...

    Two 175w 20Ks & a 400w 14K Overkill?

Yes, thank you. This is what I am doing at the moment. I really really like the blue look and am quite used to it now. It's kind of hard for me to go back to the more white look (400w makes it whiter and drowns out the blue). I think that eventually I'm going to make the 400w a 20k and use my...

    Two 175w 20Ks & a 400w 14K Overkill?

I've been running two 175w MH on my 100g reef. This tank has only been set up for a year (reef 5 months). I came across a warehouse 400w MH lamp for 40 US dollars (about 47 canadian dollars) and couldn't pass it up. I rewired it and added a 400w reef bulb. What I decided to do was make a DYI...

    Scutus

Would anyone be willing to give a little info on this possible scutus? I've had this guy for about 6 months and have never seen it bothering my corals. He started at about 5cm in diameter and is now the length of my pointer finger! How fast do these guys grow...

    Bunch of boogers (slug)

A week ago, I noticed some new sea slugs in the tank. Now...there are about a hundred of them (that I can see). They seem to be herbivore because they are hanging out on the backside of the aquarium. They look like the things that my 4 yr old pull out of his nose (BOOGERS) and move like an inch...

    DYI Calcium reactor in future

I agree...science IS cool! Well, I've found the reason why so many still push for the use of Kalk. Here's an article I found about ca reactors and PH scroll down: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-09/rhf/index.php

    DYI Calcium reactor in future

I didn't think it was "cool" I just thought it would be a bit more scientific.

    DYI Calcium reactor in future

I think you and I are in the same boat :) I just always try to look to the future. I've got to read read and read some more and ask lots of Q's along the way. I know how I am, I have the "bigger is better" mentality so some day...in the future, I'll be constructing one of these bad mama jamas!

    DYI Calcium reactor in future

But isn't a Ca reactor a little more effecient and a little more self maintained (after all the initial tweeking)? I always thought that a Ca reactor was the "top" of the line.

    Kalk Q's

I have heard the good and bads of vinegar as well. I was using it for awhile (2Tbs per G) and I think I was using too much because I started to get algae blooms (not terribley bad but enough to be annoying). What dose would you reccomend I start with....

    DYI Calcium reactor in future

I was looking into DYI Ca reactors because in the future, when I gain a bit more understanding of them, I'd like to build one for my tank (tired of mixing Kalk already). I'm kind of confused on how to maintain your PH if the effluent from the reactor has such a low PH. Also, if I top off my tank...

    Kalk Q's

I have been strictly dosing kalk only. I've heard that there may possibly be left over hydroxide ions. Is there any buffers and/or additives I can use to help "pair" these off? Also, has anyone tried using SeaLab No28 (someone suggested it)?
