Quick shots of my 20l and 5.5g. Waiting for the 20 to fill in since most of the plants were purchased small/dying. The 5.5 needs some serious trimming and the marsilea in the front will be swapped with some s. repens soon.

Just a quick update. Things are growing and filling in, and everyone looks happy! I added in a school of neon tetras after two weeks of just the rams, and they are doing great. The rams are out and about now that they aren't the only ones in there too. I'm planning on moving some of the plants...

There are a bunch of different types of substrates out there. Some of it depends on the types of plants you're planning to grow. If you're looking for a low light low tech setup I'd probably recommend Eco Complete, it's a pretty good price for 20 lb bags and it works really well to grow plants...
