Does the amount of decor and plants have any effect on the stocking levels?

I have been trying to read up more on stocking levels, and there just seems to be a lot of conflicting information. I resorted to using Aqadvisor but then I've read that it is VERY conservative in its estimations... There doesn't seem to be a concrete answer...how many fish can be in my tank...

Its a 75 gallon, been up a couple months now. I think he was one of my newer Oto's so he's only been in there 2 weeks; he was smaller than my others. Not sure what you mean by treating them?

zero ammonia, zero nitrates, 5ppm nitrates, low kh/gh, neutral ph. Nothing out of the ordinary. Over filtered. Definitely not old age, it wasnt even fully grown. Cant comment on the other reasons... There's 42 fish in there, I feed flakes, sparingly, in the morning, and I mix up the evening...

Thought I'd update again. One of the glass cats is out and about pretty much all the time, it's a very interesting fish, just does his own thing...I wish I could say the same for the rest. They are still constantly in hiding. It's weird that one is so bold when the rest are so lame. Lol

Everything seems to be settled now. Diamonds are happy and not too pushy and still schooling with the Rainbows. Danios have calmed down. Im thinking maybe they killed the little Danio while re-establishing their hierarchy. Im loving the Rainbows especially. They are so friendly and nice looking!

Well after watching them this morning I wonder if maybe the Danios took out one of the new ones. They have been very aggressive towards each other today and the 5 new ones were quite a bit smaller. The Diamonds only seem aggressive at feeding time...

Well, the Diamonds are heading back to the LFS. Every feeding time they are super aggressive and bully the other fish (even though there's plenty of food). My Glass Cats were venturing out for food, but now they wont come out at all. Last night one of my Danios got eaten...I can only assume it...

Well she's pretty much full up now. Went to the LFS with my wife and she loved the Diamond Tetras so we got 5, and I found out the Dwarf Rainbows can go to a lower temp so I got those. Then 5 more Red Zebras just because they're awesome :).

Ya they are a really nice looking fish. They have a group of fully grown ones in a show tank at my LFS and I really like them...thats what made me want them. In fact thats why I ended up with a couple of my fish....I really like their setup and they all go so well together. That is SUPER cool...

Might be a possibility. Its pretty tight but there is a cut out for the HOB. Maybe the dog ate 'em.

The Glass Cats are easily the biggest in the tank right now. I would think it would have had to die and be a group meal :). At least now I know it's not in there...I can replace it next time I add fish.
