Is there any plants I can grow in these conditions? Sand substrate.

Suggestions appreciated.

Oh... and while I don't suggest trying it... Here's a picture of a 10g that I had a while back. A single 18w T8 fixture with a 'cool' bulb from walmart. HM, anubias, ambulia, and a few others that I forgot...

HM is typically referred to as a medium-high light plant. YMMV ;)

It's the tube lights so I'm thinking that's CFL?

I'm trying some Java Fern for now. I might pick up some others next time. What background plant do you all suggest?

Here are the two I picked up. Are they ok? Did I "plant" them right? This is my first try at plants guys so be nice.

CFL is compact fluorescent light. It's usually one of those spiral fluorescents that can screw into an incandescent socket. They can come in a U shape also.

Anacharis or vals would work in the back.

Oh then they are not...its the tube lights. I like the vals..you think I have enough light?
