I have a 150 gallon tank that has

1 auratus
3 acei "electric yellows"
1 clown knife
1 hapalochromus
1 red zebra
1 venustus
2 Kenyi
The 2 Kenyi look to be breeding but the autatus tends to split them up. The one I suspect to be female is larger and has a distended jaw line making her look larger. They have been "kissing" and exhibiting mating behavior with no results. Also have 15 ghost shrimp that 3 male and 12 female I think based on size and activity. Females carry eggs for about a month then gone. Have a breeder tank for segrigation with no results. Give me some ideas please. Thanks

I have a lot of pets a 150 gallon a 40 gallon a terrarium with an Irian jaya carpet python a grey African parrot since I was 6, 35 now, a Rottweiler, Great Dane, Chiaha, and a gerbil the snake wouldn't eat lol

I hope I caught everyone in the pics of the tank. I was trying to get clear pics but going through se filtration issues right now. Sorry for the fog or haze.

I bought my tank, stand, filters, and heater for 1200. That's after buying a 40 gallon
And that was after the first purchase of the original 10 gal lol

My substrate is just play sand washed, and rinsed at about 250 lbs. Cichlids live to dig.

The first thing is to make sure your home can handle the weight of the tank. Then the space issue. Then the financial part lol

I would love to do an indoor pond in the floor of a spare room with two walls in aquariums one salt and one fresh would be crazy.

Lol, it's not the cost of the tank- it's building up stock, cycling and the cost and insane time consuming start up that is usually what breaks you- building my way up to stocking my 7 foot 150g and going broke and insane doing so :D

I had to go through 3 bottles of Seachem stability and used water from my 40 gal. To start the cycle I. My big tank.

I got a 60 gallon that I'm excited to start. But will be about a year or so before I have a house. I don't want to start it until I know I won't have to move it.
