Oh heh, I think it holds 2 bulbs, 40w each. Hes thinking doing 50% actinic right now so pushing it down to 40w?

Sorry it took me so long to respond. No the hood has two and yes, I didn't want 80 W of light raining down growing my plants out of control. I could just put in plain flourescent and just rely on the 40W. That is a good idea. As for leaving one bulb out, while that would be the truly rational thing to do(and cheaper), I have this weird thing about symmetry. It would drive me bonkers only having one. Thanks for the good ideas
