I have a lot of gunk in my tank so I'm not too worried. Plus I have algae pellets and flakes I feed every couple days

True, this is actually going to be my last tank for a couple years at least. I plan on selling it in a couple months, but I'll keep a 10 gallon with all its accessories in storage for later on down the road.
