So I was pondering the next tank I should try to get would be and thought of a biotope tank. I'd like to get a 30 gal long and put a power head on one side, add some sand and put in some of those round rocks. I'd stick it with some Asian fish that like fast flowing water. This what I have so far.

6-8 zebra danios
1 Sumo loach
1 hillstream loach

Any suggestions on what else to add? And what temp do you think they would need. Seems less than tropical.

Panda loaches seem like they would be a good choice for this sort of setup. I would personally substitute out the danios for white cloud minnows

They stay small to my knowledge, that sized tank should be big enough
