40 gal stocking

hey everyone! I desperately need to restock a 40 gal hex tank. It's been empty for weeks but everything is still running. I'm just broke right now so i haven't gotten any fish to stock it. At first, I was thinking a rainbow tank. Now I'm thinking all male guppies. Any other suggestions? please help!

I've thought about an angel tank but I just can't seem to be able to keep the pH in the correct range.

What's your ph. Now a days angelfish can easily adapt to a wide range of ph.

Lot of people are posting problems with guppies. Idk. Because according to the responses guppies are too inbreed.

Wish I could help, but I'm not sure what you'd like. I like cory best.

I think if I were you, I spend a day going to all the LFS nearby and take pics of the fish and the labels. Then, I'd go home and enter them into the fish calculator. Add and subtracting until I got a mix of fish that worked together.
