Hello everyone! I'm going to try my hand at a planted tank for the first time in a while. I'm used to low light plants but I've never really ventured into the world of medium/high lights.
My tank specs are:
Rimless 5 gallon, 10(L)x10(D)x12(H)
Current lighting: Finnex FugeRay Planted+ (https://www.amazon.com/Finnex-FugeR...9DY3ZNZAH3J&psc=1&refRID=TXJ1S5ZFB9DY3ZNZAH3J)
My current light fixture isn't full spectrum but it has reds and blues, 35 PAR at 12". I want to be able to grow dwarf hairgrass at the moment and I'm wondering if the Finnex FugeRay is enough light or if I need to get a new fixture. It's hard to fix a fixture that fits since my tank is on the smaller side. I'm looking into CO2 injections as well using either the Fluval CO2 kit or DIY injections (not sure which I prefer yet).
If my lighting isn't enough, can I add an Aqueon Planted Aquarium Clip On light (https://www.amazon.com/Aqueon-Plant...ies&sprefix=aqueon+plant,pets,215&sr=1-2&th=1)
This tank will be for shrimp only.
To sum up:
1) Is my Finnex FugeRay enough light for medium-high light plants if I do CO2 injections?
2) If it's not enough light, can I add an Aqueon Planted Tank Clip on Light to "double up" on the lighting?
3) Can i grow dwarf hairgrass as a carpet? Can I potentially grow dwarf babytears or monte carlo?
4) What fixtures would you recommend for a 10Lx10D size tank (rimless)? My budget if I get a new fixture is ideally less than $50 but I'm open to options up to $80.
