I have just joined this forum and so here is some background on me!
Seven years ago I successfully kept a large tank of tropical freshwater fish.
I am now returning to my much loved hobby and realising my dream of keeping a saltwater tank.
I have recently purchased a Kent Reef aquarium (94 litres) which is smaller than I had hoped but have ammended my "wanted fish list" from a yellow tang etc to clown fish and shrimps!
I have filled the tank with water, heated it and added about 8 - 10 pounds of live rock which is turning a gold colour and there are small creatures and growths forming. I do not know if I need more rock.
I have noticed a few dead tiny see-through shrimplike creatures floating around in the water when I clean the algae off the glass. Is that a good or bad sign?
I am waiting patiently to add fish!!!
