Hello Everyone,

My planted tank has been up for about 4 years now, and when I first set it up I bought substrate at the LFS that was wet inside the bag and had nutrients for the plants in it. I can't remember the name of it.

I have bought some new plants and I'm going to redo my aquarium a little bit this weekend. I have been using root tabs and liquid ferts in the water column, but have pretty much stopped using liquid CO2, and every thing seems to be doing well.

Should I add additional substrate with nutrients when I redecorate? Also, should I begin dosing with Excel again even though all seems well?

Thanks for any help.

That all depends.

What plants do you have?
What root tabs are you using?
What liquid ferts are you using?
What light fixture do you have?
What size tank is this?
