Forgive me if it's been discussed before. I know there will be more oxygen exchange in a long tank, but some say if it is well aerated it doesn't matter. So if it's aerated, does it matter? Can my 20 long handle more fish than a 20 high?

a 20g long is better for fish that are active and like to swim as it gives them a longer range to swim... its also better for plants/coral because the light doesnt have to penetrate as deep... you also have more bottom space for bottom dwellers

I agree. The long is good for plants plants because of light penetration. The fish benefit from the lenght. Tall could be for displays. I prefer long.
