Hi guys can I keep an african dwarf frog with in a planted tank i have done some research but cant find the answer to this. My tank meets all the needs of an A D Frog but I donk know if they will eat the plants, will this poison the frog? Will they ruin the aquascape? Any other problems?

Yes you can keep them in a planted tank and they IMO won't ruin the scaping. Just be sure to target feed them since they have such poor eyesight and I would suggest getting some type of cleanup crew like Cory cats or a Mystery or Ramshorn snail since it's quite messy to feed them.

Ok. I already have amano and ghost shrimp. I am moving the ghost shrimp into my hospital tank for good so i can breed cherry shrimp in my main tank. I also have otto's and nerite snails. I also unfortunately have pond snails that i am trying to get rid of.

Thanks for the help.

Another question. Can I keep one african dwarf frog? I dont want to breed anything in my tank as I dont want to overfeed my fish with tadpoles etc or do you guys know of a certain way to sex these frogs so I dont have and froggy reproduction waste going on. Cheers.

I know they are a social species and do better in small groups. Honestly I've never heard of them breeding so you'd have to do some research on them about that.

Yeah It seems possible to breed them from what I have read. Just cant figure out how to stop it haha. Thanks for reply.

I kept them for years when the kids were little and never had any spawning so honestly I don't think I'd worry overly much about that issue.
