You say the plants wont grow "as well" with the blue bulb, but, will they grow? They seem to be doing well now.

Why don't you just put the bulbs in the way you like the light to be and see how the plants grow and see if you do or don't get algae issues. No use buying something else unless you find you are really going to need it.

Thats what i did and everyone was right about the blue bulb. The plants started to not look as good. I love this forum. I think im going to go buy a ÷9
