i have a 30 gal eclipse. it's a bio wheel filter system. does anyone think i need air added the the tank. some of my barbs look like they are gasping. i clean the tank at least once a week.

If the fish are at the top gasping you need to add more surface agitation. If they are at the bottom gasping it could be an ammonia or nitrite problem.

i checked the ammonia and nitrite today. like no ammonia and very little nitrite.

You want both those levels at 0. Do more PWCs. If you find out you still have levels regularly of these two, you may need more filtration.
