Is this how it should be done? So far the plants are doing fine, but then again I'm only a month into this so I'm not 100% for sure on if it's right.

Lights:
(2) T5 HO 6500 K 39 W

Ferts:
Flourish (1 mL twice a week)
Flourish Excel (a capful every day)

Substrate:
mixture of fine gravel and Eco-Complete

PWC:
bi-weekly, about 20-25%, or weekly, about 50%

Does it look good so far? My rotala is starting to grow super fast, so is the cabomba and amazon swords, but my ludwiga respens is kind of having a hard time.

The ludwiga takes some time to get settled in, I have never used excel so I can't answer that part, but everything else looks good, good luck!

What brand of fixture is that? You might get some algae (BBA) depending on the efficiency of the reflector without CO2, especially if you have a shallow tank.

It's a Zoo-Med fixture, or Aqua-Sun. Yes it's a breeder tank, so it's shallow. It has a plastic reflector that you slide in.
