Amano shrimp, water change?

I am considering planting a 2.5 gallon tank and putting in 3-4 amano shrimp. If I did this, what should my water changes be like?

Also, does anybody know what plants would thrive in this small of a tank with low light and preferably no additional CO2? I want a low maintenance plant set-up, if possible.

Crypt Parva, Water sprite which you'd have to keep trimmed to the right size, Java Fern Wendilov, and Bolbitus. Wendilov and Bolbitus could be attached to small rocks, that is what we did in our two 6g tanks. As for WC's we do 50% weekly which I feel is a good thing to do. Are you going to have a filter and heater?

I was definitely going to have a filter, but wasn't planning on a heater—are they necessary? I'll definitely get one if so.

I've never kept Amano shrimp but you might want to check what water temp they do well in.
