Are there any good plants out there that have a carpetting effect but are also easy to maintain?

I have my homemade CO2 injector in my 10 gallon and I have my desk lamp shining into it (about 25 W)...but I am totally sad that my dwarf baby tears just died like that, also they were very messy and were getting all over the place :O

Some people use pigmy chain sword. I tried it but I don't have bright enough lights and a CO2 system that will make it multiply like crazy. So I am trying out flame moss and attach it to a mesh and set it up like a grass.

I don't really know much about ground cover but I just bumped this thread so people who knows a lot more than I do can help you. Good luck :)
