As to the reason behind this statement.
I've always found stingrays exciting even as a child. And saw the fish store near me. The next day the closer LFS was selling a used 6' x 2' x 20" tank for $100. My brain instantly went STINGRAY lol.
Now I have purchased neither the tank or stingray or plan to. But was mainly wondering on real world experience on their care.
