Hi guys,

I have plants in my tank (they were labeled as aquatic in the pet store but after some internet research they don't appear to really be aquatic...)

Anyway I noticed this on one of them. Is it safe to just clip off that piece of the leaf? I have no clue what it could be (its the stringy strandy stuff coming off of the leaf).

There are no fish in the tank yet, only plants as the tank is currently cycling.

It looks as if it could be BBA. I would trim it off and discard -- it won't hurt anything, especially if it is a non-aquatic plant. If they are non-aquatics, you will want to take them out before they start to rot. So long as it is green and not melting, it won't hurt to leave it in.
